Harris Cemetery
A Texas Historic Cemetery

Location:

Harris Cemetery is located in eastern San Saba County at Wolf Ridge in Harmony Ridge Community.
This cemetery was already in use as a burial ground when A. J. Crawford deeded it for that purpose in 1874.

Directions:

• From San Saba city limit on U. S. Highway 190 go east 6.7 miles to CR 132 at Harris Cemetery sign.
• Turn left onto CR 132. Go north 0.3 mile to gate on left marked Harris Cemetery.
• Turn left and go through gate into (5 acre) cemetery property.
• Go straight ahead to gate into cemetery proper.

Condition:

• This old cemetery, established in the mid-1870’s, is in remarkable condition and is well maintained under the supervision of an active cemetery association. This cemetery is located on five acres of land deeded by A. J. and Ellen Crawford to the Trustees of the Association to be used as the site for a school and a cemetery. (See copy of deed attached.)

• A 4.5 ft. high wire fence encloses the cemetery, 325 feet north to south and 205 feet east to west with a gate a mid-point in the east fence line. There is a large parking area, restroom and a covered pavilion on the cemetery compound.
