CONDITION:
The Neel Cemetery, established in 1900, is still in use as a community burial ground in 2-15. The oldest extant gravestone with an identifying inscription is that of James M. Neel who died January 20, 1901. There may have been earlier burials in this cemetery, but if so, no records remain.
The cemetery is a area of about one acre more or less enclosed by a 4 ft. high chain-link fence. There is one 12 ft. wide gate into the cemetery that is located at mid-point in the east fence line adjacent to the parking area and the tabernacle. The cemetery has been and continues to be well maintained by an active cemetery association with an endowment fund for the purpose of cemetery upkeep.
