1. Stephen Woodson Terry (Number 44 in Sector 2) was born November 17, 1828, in Tennessee. He married Volumnia Adams August 8, 1847. The young family moved to Texas in the early 1860’s. They settled in San Saba County in the Pecan Grove community and gave the land for the Terry Cemetery. Stephen W. Terry served as sheriff of San Saba County from October 28, 1869 until January 25, 1871. S. W. and Volumnia Terry had fourteen children, six boys and eight girls. (See page 317 Vol. I of San Saba County History for more on the history of the Terry family.

2. John Thomas Terry (Number 100 in Sector 1) was born Jan.14, 1850, in Tennessee, the son of S. W. Terry and Volumnia Adams. He married Julia Ann Cornut on May 12, 1871. They had fifteen children:

3. Cordelia Francis (Terry) Black (Number 43 in Sector 2) was born Jan.29, 1854, in Tennessee, the daughter of S. W. Terry and Volumnia Adams.

4. Arretta Caroline (Terry) Austin (Number 42 in Sector 2) was born March 6, 1858, in Tennessee, the daughter of S.W. and Volumnia Adams. She married H. R. Austin in 1886. She died in childbirth August 31, 1887. Both mother and child are buried in the same grave in Terry Cemetery.

5. William Jefferson Terry, (Number 36 in Sector 2) was born Sept. 27, 1864, in San Saba County, the son of S.W Terry and Volumnia Adams. He married Martha Wincy Harvick (Number 37 in Sector 2) on July 7, 1889. They had three children: Effie, a school teacher, Douglas Ouray (Number 1 in Sector 3) who married Ethel Newby (Number 2 in Sector 3) and Corbin.

6. Martha E. (Terry) Taylor (Number 35 in Sector 2) was born Jan. 20, 1867, the daughter of S.W. Terry and Volumnia Adams. She married James T. Taylor (Number 34 in Sector 2) on November 18, 1885.

7. Sudie E. (Terry) Taylor (Number 46 in Sector 2) was born August 23, 1871, in San Saba County to S. W. Terry and Volumnia Adams. She married George C. Taylor (Number 47in Sector 2) on July 24, 1892.

8. Samuel Henry Terry (Number 54 in Sector 2) was the twin brother of Sudie E. Terry. On Dec. 23, 1894, he married Josephine Linn (Number 55 in Sector 2).

9. Joseph Woodson Terry (Number 102 in Sector 1) was born Dec. 11, 1874, in San Saba County, the son of John T. Terry and Julia Ann Cornut. On Dec. 12, 1898, he married Emma Whitman (Number 103 in Sector 1). They had two sons, Emmitt Delbert (Number 104 in Sector 1) and Murrell Alexander (Number 105 in Sector 1.)

10. Helen Draper Terry (Number 106 in Sector 1), the wife of Murrell A. Terry. They were married on March 15, 1929.

11. Norman Terry (Number 14 in Sector 1) was born on Nov. 26, 1913, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Riley Terry. On May 6, 1933, he married Jessie Dean Bennett (Number 15 in Sector 1). They had two children, a daughter June and a son Charles.

12. June Terry Kirkpatrick (Number 6A in Sector 1) was born Sept. 9, 1935, the daughter of Norman Terry and Jessie Dean Bennett. She married William W. Kirkpatrick on October 6, 1956. She was killed in a car accident on July 27, 2009, after the inventory of the Terry Cemetery had been completed. She was buried in the Norman Terry family plot.

13. Warden L. Terry (Number 107 in Sector 1) was born Jan. 20, 1918, in the Pecan Grove community, the son of Riley R. Terry (Number 109 in Sector 1) and Emily Munsell (Number 46 in Sector 1.) He married Martha Roe Moore in September 1940.

14. John W. Bennett (Number 94 in Sector 2) was born Aug. 16, 1852, in Williamson County, Texas, the son of James Bennett and Margaret Hamilton. On July 4, 1872, John married Sarah E. Slaughter (Number 93 in Sector 2.) The John Bennett family moved to San Saba County in 1898, and bought a farm by the Colorado River in the Pecan Grove community.

15. Bernice C. Bennett (Number 12 in Sector 1), the son of John W. Bennett and Sarah Slaughter, was born in Williamson County October 8, 1889. Bernice came to San Saba with his family. He attended school in Pecan Grove where he met his wife Selma J. Taff (Number 13 in Sector 10.)

16. George Washington Edmondson (Number 8 in Sector 3) was born in Washington County, Virginia, on Dec. 8, 1852. On June 15, 1876, he married Virginia Cole (Number 9, Sector 3.) In 1903 they moved to Texas and settled in the Pecan Grove community, San Saba, County.

17. William Westfall Hibler (Number 2 in Sector 1) was born in Lee County, Texas, on May 7, 1865, the son of F. P. Hibler and Martha Davis. W. W. Hibler and Annie Laura Taylor (Number 3 in Sector 2) were married on Aug. 22, 1888 in Lee County, Texas. They came to San Saba County in 1910.

18. Chris C. Hibler (Number 19 in Sector 2) was the son of W.W. and Annie Laura Hibler. He married Valley (Coot) Taff (Number 20 in Sector 2.)

19. German Jackson Ratliff (Number 60 in Sector 2) was born in 1876 to John Ratliff and Janie Osborn. He married Rachel M. Edmondson (Number 61 in Sector 2.) She was the daughter of George W. Edmondson and Virginia Cole. They lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Arkansas before coming to San Saba, Texas, in 1922. They made their home in the Pecan Grove community where they farmed and raised turkeys.

20. George Henry Ratliff (Number 78 in Sector 2) was the son of German J. and Rachel M. Ratliff. He was born Feb. 13, 1904, in Davis County, Kentucky where he met and married his first wife, Francis Johnson. Francis and their baby died at child birth. George Henry married his second wife, Lillie May Robbins (Number 79 in Sector 2), on May 21, 1932, in San Saba, Texas. They made their home in the Pecan Grove community.

21. Bobby Carl Ratliff (Number 76 in Sector 2) was the son of George Henry and Rachel Ratliff. He married Barbara Ann Herro.

22. Daisy Pauline (Ratliff) Sanderson (Number 20 in Sector 1) was the daughter of German J. and Rachel M. Ratliff.

23. Woodrow Wilson Ratliff (Number 64 in Sector 2) was the son of German and Rachel Ratliff.

24. William Mitchell Sanderson (Number 94 in Sector 1) was born June 17, 1882, the son of Eli Turner Sanderson and Georgia Carter. William Mitchell married Imogene Robbins (number 95 in Sector 1). For more on the Sanderson history see pages 287-288 in Vol. I, San Saba County History.

25. George W. Taff (Number 14 in Sector 2) and Lanura Rhinehart (Number 15 in Sector 2) were married in Tennessee before moving to Texas in 1876. After living two years in Williamson County, they moved to San Saba County and settled in the Pecan Grove community. Their children were: Mack, Wiley (Number 115 in Sector 1), William Bradley (Number 120 in Sector 1), Mrs. B. F. Miller, Mrs. Emma Huffstutler, and Mrs. Will Bird.

26. Ellen T. (Crawford) Taff (Number 119 in Sector 1) married William Brad Taff on Sept.21, 1881. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Crawford. The Taffs had four daughters. Two died at very early ages. The other two, Selma and Dora Dean survived the dipheria epidemic and both went to school at Pecan Grove.

27. Ada Ruth (Terry) Walker (Number 97 in Sector 1) A. J. (Jack) Walker married Ada Ruth Terry on May 1. 1893. Ada Ruth was the daughter of John Thomas and Julia Terry. A J. (Jackie) was the son of William Walker and Sarah Lane. Jack and Ada had four children: Estelle Armour, John Terry, Alfred Jackson Jr. and Ada Ruth (Number 82 in Sector 2). Sarah died with the birth of her namesake
