Condition:

This old cemetery has served as a burial ground for the community of McMillin since settlers first arrived in 1854-55. N.D. McMillin was one of the first to settle here, and he gave the land for the cemetery. The first burial in this cemetery was that of Sarah Ann Elizabeth Nunn Warren who died February 22, 1864. However, there are many unidentified graves that are marked with sandstone markers with no inscriptions. It is probable that there are burials here that date back to the 1850’s. The cemetery is an area of about two-thirds acre that is enclosed by a four foot high wire fence. The main entrance is at mid-point in the north fence line adjacent to the parking area. This cemetery is well maintained and managed by an active cemetery association and family interest.
