 History:

What we now know as the San Saba Cemetery was first dedicated on April 26, 1884, as the Odd Fellows Cemetery on ten acres. The Odd Fellows maintained the cemetery until 1929 when it became necessary to expand to meet the needs of the town. Expansion required the cemetery to be chartered by the state. The San Saba Cemetery Association incorporated under the laws of Texas on the 31st day of January 1929 for the purpose of taking over the Odd Fellows Cemetery. At this time, the new association received an additional 7 acres from Mrs. May Holman. In 1935, a number of remains were re-interred in the cemetery from the original city burying ground (1858 – 1878) which is now Rogan Field. So there are several grave stones which are dated from before the opening of San Saba Cemetery.

Plat:
San Saba cemetery is divided into sections by north-south roads.  Each grave has been given a section, row and position in that row relative to the other graves.  In each section the rows are numbered from east to west with the first grave (.01) in each row being at the south end.

A number of people in the inventory are known, from their obituaries, to have been buried in San Saba cemetery though the location of their grave is unknown.
